Scoring & Judging on KidShowcase
So, you’ve been asked to judge or score a KidShowcase event? First off—thank you for lending your time and expertise to support young athletes, artists, and performers!
We’ve engineered our judging portal to be completely frictionless. You don't need to download an app or manage tedious paper scorecards. Everything runs smoothly from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop in real time.
Quick Start: How to Open Your Judge Dashboard
To start scoring, ask your event host or director for the direct judge link, or simply scan the Scoring QR Code displayed on the event's central dashboard or scoring table with your phone camera.
3 Simple Steps to Score an Event
Access & Sign In
Scan the host's QR code or follow the judge link. Sign into your KidShowcase account (or quickly create one) to unlock your judge credentials for the event.
Select the Activity
Once signed in, you will see a live listing of all event categories, heats, routines, or field activities. Tap or click the specific activity or student you are evaluating.
Submit Your Score
Enter numerical ratings or select metric values. Hit Submit Score, and your evaluation is instantly registered in the event standings. That’s all there is to it!
Understanding Evaluation Types
Depending on the type of event you are scoring, your judging card will automatically adjust to the format designated by the event host:
- Objective & Quantitative Scoring: For drills, timed events, or athletic trials (such as 40-yard dash times, exit velocities, or gymnastics skill counts), simply key in the verified numbers into the corresponding fields.
- Subjective Evaluations & Feedback: For creative performances, talent showcases, or form evaluations, you may be presented with slider controls, point rubrics, or a text feedback box. Use these text areas to offer constructive comments, notes, or tips that help young participants grow.
Tips for a Smooth Scoring Experience
- Keep Your Screen Active: Keep your mobile web browser tab open during the heat or performance so you can transition quickly between participants.
- Real-Time Autosave: Your scores are locked in as soon as you press submit. If you make a mistake on a entry, notify the event administrator to reopen the entry for editing.
- Constructive Feedback Matters: When providing written evaluations, keep critiques positive, clear, and encouraging—remember that every score helps a student build their showcase profile!
