KidShowcase – Child Safety & COPPA Guidelines

Last Updated: October 4, 2026

KidShowcase LLC ("KidShowcase", "we", "us", or "our") is built specifically to celebrate and highlight the achievements of young athletes, artists, students, and youth organizations. Because our platform is centered around youth, maintaining a safe, clean, and transparent digital environment is our highest priority.

Important Privacy Notice for Parents & Guardians

KidShowcase is a public showcase platform designed to help youth present their talents to coaches, scouts, family, and supporters. Before creating or publishing a student profile, please review our guide: What You Share Is What They See: Understanding Privacy on KidShowcase.

1. Compliance with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

KidShowcase complies strictly with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), enforced by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

  • No Direct Registration Under 13: Children under the age of 13 are strictly prohibited from creating accounts, registering, or managing profiles on KidShowcase independently.
  • Mandatory Parental Consent & Management: Student profiles for minors under 13 must be created, authorized, and maintained exclusively by a verified parent, legal guardian, or an authorized educational/sports organization representative with verifiable parental consent.
  • Parental Rights: Parents and legal guardians retain total control over their minor child’s profile data. At any time, a parent or guardian may review, edit, restrict public visibility of, or permanently delete their child’s profile and uploaded media by accessing their account dashboard or contacting [email protected].

2. Protection of Minors Ages 13 to 17

Minors between the ages of 13 and 17 may only participate on KidShowcase with the knowledge, supervision, and active consent of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians remain legally responsible for supervising their minor child’s use of the site and ensuring that any content posted complies with our Terms of Service.

3. Account Controls & Communication Rules

To reduce risk and protect young participants from unmonitored contact, harassment, or solicitation, KidShowcase enforces strict structural safeguards:

  • Parent-Controlled Contact Points: Public contact, recruitment inquiries, or support notifications regarding minor profiles are routed through the registered parent, guardian, or official club administrator account—never directly to an unsupervised minor.
  • No Open Private Messaging: KidShowcase does not provide unmonitored direct messaging or chat rooms between adult users and minors.
  • Public Visibility Awareness: Information, photos, video clips, academic metrics, and athletic statistics uploaded to public student showcases are accessible to site visitors, scouts, and recruiters. Parents are strongly advised not to post sensitive personal information such as home addresses, personal phone numbers, or exact daily schedules.

4. Zero-Tolerance Safety Policy & Prohibited Content

KidShowcase enforces a zero-tolerance policy against any behavior or content that threatens youth safety. We immediately report illegal activity involving minors to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate profile removal, account termination, and legal reporting:

  • Posting explicit, inappropriate, abusive, sexually suggestive, or harmful images, videos, or text.
  • Bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, intimidation, or hate speech targeted at any student, participant, or user.
  • Attempting to solicit personal contact information, home locations, or private communications from minors.
  • Creating deceptive, fake, or impersonated student profiles or unauthorized event listings.
  • Scraping, harvesting, or repurposing photos, videos, or minor profile data for unauthorized third-party commercial use.

5. Content Monitoring & Moderation

KidShowcase employs automated security tools (including Google reCAPTCHA v3 and spam filtering) along with administrative moderation to identify and remove suspicious activity. While we actively work to maintain a safe platform, KidShowcase relies on our community of parents, coaches, and users to flag potential violations.

If you observe any profile, photo, video, or comment that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately using our Contact / Report Form or email us directly at [email protected].

6. Full Parent/Guardian Responsibility & Platform Indemnification

By creating a profile, event, or fundraiser for or on behalf of a minor, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Sole Responsibility for Uploaded Content: The parent, legal guardian, or authorized organization representative is solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions, photo/video releases, and legal rights prior to posting media or personal details of any minor on KidShowcase.
  • Release of Claims: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release KidShowcase LLC, its founders, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, or damages arising out of or connected to user-uploaded content, third-party viewing of public profile media, or unauthorized third-party copying/sharing of publicly displayed information.
  • Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KidShowcase LLC from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, liabilities, or costs (including attorney fees) resulting from your failure to obtain proper parental consent, your breach of COPPA guidelines, or your submission of unauthorized media or information regarding a minor.

7. Updates to these Safety Guidelines

We may update these Child Safety & COPPA Guidelines periodically to reflect changes in legal regulations, security technologies, or platform features. Revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
