What is KidShowcase?

KidShowcase is a platform where parents, students, coaches, instructors, and youth organizations can create profiles, share achievements, post events, and receive support through donations. It’s built to highlight kids’ talents — sports, arts, academics, music, and more — in a clean, safe, and easy‑to‑use environment.

Is KidShowcase free?

Yes. Creating profiles, posting updates, and receiving direct student donations is free. Just about everything you do on the site is 100% free. You will not be charged to do anything unless you want to earn money for your school, club, or business through event registrations or organization fundraisers. If you are an instructor, high school, or organization hosting an event or fundraiser, KidShowcase takes a small platform fee from the proceeds, but KidShowcase NEVER charges students or parents and only makes money when your organization is raising funds or selling event entries through the site.

How does KidShowcase help Students?

KidShowcase helps students by showcasing their achievements, connecting them to opportunities, and allowing family, friends, and supporters to donate directly to their profile. Donations can help with things like travel costs, equipment, lessons, tournament fees, or anything the student needs to keep growing. KidShowcase takes 0% from direct student donations; the only charge is the standard credit card processing fee (~3% charged by Stripe).

How do donations and payouts work?

STUDENTS: Supporters can donate directly to a student through their showcase. KidShowcase keeps 0% of direct student donations — the student keeps the full amount minus Stripe’s standard processing fee (~3%).

ORGANIZATION FUNDRAISERS: For fundraisers created by organizations (Schools, Clubs, Businesses), KidShowcase charges a 5% platform fee on top of the standard ~3% Stripe processing fee (totaling ~8%).

EVENT SIGNUPS: For event signups and registrations created by coaches, instructors, or organizations, KidShowcase charges a 15% platform fee on top of the standard ~3% Stripe processing fee (totaling ~18%).

All funds are processed securely through Stripe and deposited straight into the connected account of the parent, coach, or organization managing the profile, fundraiser, or event.

When do I receive donation payouts?

Donation payouts are fast once your Stripe account is verified and connected. Funds flow directly to your bank account through Stripe Connect based on your standard Stripe payout schedule.

Why do event payouts take longer?

Event payouts are delayed until after the event occurs. This protects parents, teams, and the platform from:

  • cancellations
  • chargebacks
  • fraudulent event listings

Most events pay out within 2–7 days after completion, depending on Stripe’s processing.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. Anyone receiving money (donations or event payments) must connect a Stripe account. Stripe handles:

  • identity verification
  • bank account verification
  • payouts
  • fraud prevention

KidShowcase never stores your sensitive financial information.

Is KidShowcase safe?

Yes. KidShowcase uses:

  • Stripe Radar fraud protection
  • bank account verification
  • identity checks
  • anti–card‑testing protections
  • secure payment processing
  • profile monitoring for suspicious activity

We take youth safety and financial security seriously.

Can anyone donate?

Yes. Anyone with a valid debit or credit card can donate to a student profile, team, or organization fundraiser.

Does KidShowcase charge platform fees?

Yes, depending on the transaction type:

  • Direct Student Donations: 0% KidShowcase fee (only standard ~3% Stripe processing fee applies).
  • Organization Fundraisers: 5% KidShowcase fee + standard ~3% Stripe processing fee.
  • Event Signups / Registrations: 15% KidShowcase fee + standard ~3% Stripe processing fee.

What are Stripe’s processing fees?

Stripe’s standard processing fee is approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (referred to generally as ~3%). Additional processing fees may apply for international cards or currency conversion.

Why does Stripe ask for my personal information?

Stripe is legally required to verify the identity of anyone receiving money (Know Your Customer / KYC regulations). This protects you and the platform from:

  • fraud
  • chargebacks
  • unauthorized payouts
  • financial misuse

Verification is standard for all online platforms using Stripe Connect.

What happens if a donor or registrant disputes a charge?

If a chargeback or dispute is filed:

  • Stripe investigates the claim
  • Funds may be temporarily reversed
  • Stripe attempts to recover the amount from the connected account

If Stripe cannot recover the funds, the connected account holder is responsible for the negative balance. KidShowcase does not cover chargebacks.

Can I run events on KidShowcase?

Yes. Coaches, instructors, and organizations can create and host:

  • camps
  • clinics
  • lessons
  • workshops
  • tournaments
  • fundraisers

Event registration fees include KidShowcase’s 15% platform fee plus Stripe’s processing fee, and payout is released after the event concludes.

Can I share my KidShowcase profile?

Yes. Every profile and fundraiser has a shareable link you can post on:

  • social media
  • team pages
  • group chats
  • email
  • text messages

Can I upload photos and videos?

Yes. Profiles support photos, video highlights, achievements, stats, updates, and event flyers.

Is KidShowcase only for sports?

No. KidShowcase is for all youth activities, including:

  • music
  • art
  • dance
  • academics
  • robotics
  • theater
  • clubs
  • community programs

If a kid can showcase it, it belongs here.

Can I manage multiple kids or teams?

Yes. Under your main account login, you can manage multiple student profiles, teams, events, and connected Stripe accounts.

How do I report a problem or suspicious activity?

You can report issues directly through your dashboard or contact KidShowcase support. We investigate fraudulent profiles, suspicious transactions, fake events, and inappropriate content promptly.

Can businesses or sponsors donate?

Yes. Businesses and local sponsors can donate just like individuals to support student profiles or organization fundraisers.

Can I use KidShowcase for fundraising?

Absolutely. KidShowcase is built for team fundraisers, travel expenses, equipment needs, tournament fees, school programs, and club support. Organization fundraisers incur a 5% platform fee (plus ~3% Stripe processing fee), while 100% of direct student donations go straight to the student (minus ~3% Stripe processing fee).
