How Fees Work: Honest & Transparent
KidShowcase charges a 0% platform fee on individual student profiles. You do have to pay the credit card processing fee but that's all.
Standard Credit Card Processing Fees
While KidShowcase takes $0, standard merchant credit card processing fees (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are charged directly by Stripe to cover card network operating costs (Visa, Mastercard, Amex).
Donor Tipping Model
To keep KidShowcase free for families, donors are given an optional choice to leave a small tip during checkout to support our platform.

Important Tax & Account Planning Tip
Depending on your state and tax situation, personal crowdfunding contributions are generally considered personal gifts. However, if you receive a high volume of donations, payment processors like Stripe are required to issue a Form 1099-K at year-end.
Pro-Tip: Consider tying your Stripe setup to a dedicated bank account set up specifically for your child’s athletic or educational expenses (or a 501(c)(3) / Booster account if applicable) to keep records clean and separate from everyday household spending.
